Sound System Training Workshop

NFCT member and sound expert John Lovett will host a sound system training workshop on Saturday, November 15, at 1 p.m. The workshop is open to all.

The event will have two sections.
1) We will review the “sound” space of the NFCT and discuss the capabilities of the audio system including:
• sound sources
• acoustics
• electronics
• general audio capabilities and configuration of the theater
This is a great chance for folks to learn how to incorporate the audio systems as part of their projects, and the how and why of live sound. Great for producers and directors as well as those interested in tech.

2) Hands-on time with the equipment, including:
• types of microphones
• microphone placement
• speakers
• what’s a mix
• mixing console
• amplifiers
• signal path and troubleshooting
Great for those interested in getting hands-on with the people and equipment related to live sound at the NFCT.
