There will also be a dance audition so you can focus on your singing! Our choreographer will be teaching a few counts of 8. Who doesn’t love some good 50s dance moves!
Auditions for the musical Cry Baby will be held Sunday, August 28, at 3 p.m. and Monday, August 29, at 7 p.m. with callbacks on Wednesday, August 31, at 7 p.m.
Cry Baby is a rock-and-roll romp — a fractured 1950s version of Romeo and Juliet. It’s based on the 1990 John Waters movie of the same name.
All parts are open. We enthusiastically encourage all actors of color to audition.
For the music part of the audition, please prepare a song from the show, or a rock song or ballad from the ’50s or ’60s along the lines of Elvis, Little Richard and Brenda Lee. Please prepare the song with movement or choreography.
Actors should be prepared to stay for reading from the script; sides will be provided.
