Auditions for The Father

Auditions for The Father will be held Friday, December 15, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, December 16, at 1 p.m. Callbacks will be held Sunday, December 17, at 11 a.m. Auditions and callbacks will be held at the NFCT. Please contact director Mark Heidemann at [email protected] with any questions.

The Father will run March 8-24, 2024.

Character Descriptions
ANDRE: Age: 70s. He was once a robust professional and father but dementia is setting in. He is unwilling to believe he is less than he once was but he is slipping.

ANNE: Age 35-45. Andre’s daughter. She is exhausted. She struggles to care for her increasingly needy and failing father. She is overwhelmed and needs help. Her personal life has not been easy.

PIERRE: Age 35-55. Anne’s significant other/husband. He loves Anne but is tired of Andre becoming the focal point of their life together. He attempts to be supportive but can be cruel at times and even menacing.

LAURA: Age 25-60. Laura is a professional caregiver. She is experienced and good at what she does. She has seen a great deal in her professional career. She is charmed by Andre.

MAN: Age 35-55. Caregiver. Sometimes confused with Pierre. We are not always sure if he is Pierre or someone else.

WOMAN: Age 35-55. Sometimes confused with Anne. Also a caregiver. She is thoroughly professional and smart and deals compassionately with dementia patients.
