NFCT, Mattituck-Laurel Historical Society and Mattituck Presbyterian Church’s graveyard restoration committee will co-host the second Historical Graveyard Tour featuring the graveyard adjacent to the theater from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 (rain date: Oct. 25).
The tour begins at NFCT, with groups of no more than 15 scheduled in 10-minute intervals. Six “widow guides” in Victorian mourning dress will lead the tours through the cemetery, where costumed actors (some from NFCT) will portray historical figures who are buried at the graveyard. NFCT treasurer Mary Kalich will begin each tour with a brief history of the theater, which was once a church. Social distancing will be observed and masks are required; guests must provide their own masks.
Tickets are $20 and must be bought in advance. No one will be admitted without a ticket. Proceeds will be shared between the three organizations.
