Have a play or musical you’d like to see on the North Fork Community Theatre stage? The NFCT Play-Reading Committee welcomes submissions from our membership for consideration for the following year’s production slate.
Submission Deadline for the 2027-2028 season:
December 8 at 11:59 PM
Submissions received after the deadline will not be considered for the upcoming season.
How the Process Works
The Play-Reading Committee is charged with reading plays and musicals submitted by the membership and recommending a slate of productions to the NFCT Board of Directors for the following year.
The committee evaluates submissions and considers how each work may fit within NFCT’s programming, resources, audience, and upcoming season.
Submission Guidelines
- Submissions are open to NFCT members.
- Please submit your play or musical by the deadline above.
- The committee will review submitted works and recommend a slate of productions to the Board.
- Submission does not guarantee selection or production.
- Please submit only works you are genuinely interested in seeing produced at NFCT.
Important Committee Eligibility Rules
To maintain an impartial selection process:
- Board Members: No person serving on the NFCT Board of Directors may simultaneously serve on the Play-Reading Committee, with the exception of the Vice President.
- Committee Members: Anyone serving on the Play-Reading Committee, including the Vice President, is not eligible to submit a play or musical during their term.
- Director Attachments: Play-Reading Committee members may not be attached as the stage director to a play or musical submitted by another person during their term.
- Youth on Stage: The person selected to direct the Youth on Stage (YOS) production may also direct another production on the same slate.
